World Wellness Weekend

A Fun & Healthy Way to Celebrate on the 15-17th September

We are very excited and proud to announce our partnership with World Wellness Weekend and becoming the official Global Ambassador for Halotherapy!

World Wellness Weekend is a global event that takes place every year in September. The goal of the weekend is to promote healthy living and well-being for all!

There are many ways to participate in World Wellness Weekend, from attending free classes to simply spending time outdoors.

This year the WHA (World Halotherapy Association) in partnership with the UKHN (UK & Ireland Halotherapy Network) will be hosting a virtual 60 minute Halotherapy Activity session, including introduction to halotherapy, a breath work program and concluding with a 20 minute stretch session, all in a Salt room. Our virtual session allows people to follow along, re-use and continue to benefit from, after the wellness weekend and turn it into a wellness month, year and life!

World Wellness Weekend defines wellness as a responsible relationship between your body and yourself. As the Global Ambassador for Halotherapy I want to share with you how Halotherapy relates to your vitality, serenity, and overall wellbeing.

The first thing people notice after a Halotherapy session is how relaxed they feel. There is an amazing reason as to why people feel this, and it involves a chemical reaction as the pharmaceutical grade salt is ground up and dispersed into a room or chamber via a halogenerator. As the salt is ground up and dispersed the formation of negative Air ions occurs. This happens when electrons from an atom are released into the air and attach themselves to molecules of oxygen and nitrogen. The electron carries a negative charge. The addition of an electron to a molecule of air forms a negative air ion.

Negative Ions can help with the following:

· Stress & Anxiety

· Insomnia & sleep

· Headaches

· Lethargy

· Depression

Negative ions can also increase levels of energy, mental alertness and overall sense of well-being.

In today’s world we have an excess of positive ions and nowhere near enough negative ions. Electromagnetic radiation is everywhere, especially with us spending more time in front of screens, computers, phones etc.

Just these benefits in themselves are worthwhile for many and this is why I love Halotherapy.

Scientific research has found that inhaled dry salt particles have anti-bacterial, mucokinetic, hydrophilic, and anti-inflammatory properties, which may help to reduce inflammation in the entire respiratory tract and widen the airway passages. Dry salt particles can aid the acceleration and transportation of mucus, the elimination of residual tar and foreign allergens. A clean respiratory system naturally results in higher oxygen intake, increased energy, and an improved immune system.

Dry salt is also very absorbent and functions like a sponge, attracting foreign substances along its path through the respiratory tract. One could also compare the dry salt to a toothbrush that cleans through the respiratory system removing the build-up of foreign elements that cause various respiratory ailments and conditions.

As this happens internally, a marvellous effect also takes place on your skin. As the salt lands on open skin areas, it increases the activity of skin ion channels, stimulating cell growth and regeneration. Salt particles balance the skin’s pH and auto flora, as well as reduce harmful bacteria and inflammation. This reduces the appearance of fine lines, acts as a natural moisturiser and promotes younger looking skin. It’s anti-inflammatory and bacterial properties have also proven to effectively treat chronic skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, dermatitis and so much more.

You could say Halotherapy is well worth it’s salt 😉 and there is so much I could share with you about how it helps, though if you’re like me a blog that’s short and sweet is easier to digest.
